RECHARGE - La Push, WA

There is science behind green ocean water.  Most commonly, it is caused by high concentrations of phytoplankton, which absorb the blue and red portions of the light spectrum, leaving the green portion to be reflected.

But in the cool early morning air this particular day, the science was unimportant to me.  I was busy marveling at the deeply intense color, the endless army of uniformly breaking waves, the thundering of each crash.  I sat, absorbing the energy the sea so generously shared.  I felt my body strengthen and my worries dull.  I felt the clarity of water clear my brain.  Waves of emotion coursed through me, echoing the breaking waves of the shoreline – joy, freedom, empowerment, peace, inspiration – crashing one by one over my soul.

After a good long while, the ocean released her grasp and I rose.  Like a battery that had just been recharged, I was ready again to take on the world.
