CURL  -  Cape Disappointment State Park, WA

When high tides and colossal swells combine on the Washington coast, waves surge into this cove, crashing against the ancient cliffs with a force that resonates through the surrounding land like thunder. Chaos ensues.

But sometimes, a single wave can unexpectedly appear, so perfect in form and color that it silences everything around it.  Nature, in the midst of fury, sculpts something utterly elegant and absolutely graceful. The wave arches flawlessly, translucent jade catching the light just before it folds into itself.  I silently applaud the moment.
