REARING UP  - Cape Disappointment, WA

She charges in like she always does — no warning, no mercy.

The sea gathers her strength far offshore, then gallops in with thunder in her chest. Just before striking the cliff, she rises, high and fierce, like a white mare rearing up on her hind legs, every muscle etched in fury.

The land holds its ground as it has for ages, though its edges have softened and crumbled with each blow. Above it all, the lighthouse stands, a weary watchman bracing once more for the spray and the roar and the shaking earth beneath its feet.

It’s an old story, this one, a story of sea against stone, of motion against stillness, of persistence versus patience. The ocean never stops trying. The cliffs never stop holding.

And in that eternal clash, something beautiful is revealed — not in who wins, but in the way they keep showing up, again and again.
