They came from different worlds, this local boy and his out-of-town dock mate.

They could have focused on their differences; instead, they embraced their commonalities. A thirst for adventure. A passion for the chase. A fierce independence balanced with a deep commitment to keeping their humans – and each other - safe. Lived experiences both tragic and triumphant. 

Maybe that’s what happens when we look past the obvious differences and take the time to look a little deeper. Beneath it all, we may discover we have far more in common than we ever imagined.

And perhaps that’s where unity begins.
